Overtime with You

She’s the Firebirds’ new physical therapist, determined to keep things professional.
He’s the team’s golden retriever rookie trying desperately to help his sick mom.

As the new physical therapist for the Seattle Firebirds, I’ve got one rule: no dating players. I’ve worked too hard to land this job, and risking it for a charming smile or a well-placed wink? Not happening.

Then there’s Tyler Martinez.

Tyler’s the team’s golden retriever rookie—always grinning, always helping, always impossible to ignore. Beneath his easy charm, though, he’s carrying the weight of the world. Between proving he belongs on the team and taking care of his mom, who sacrificed everything for his hockey career, he’s stretched thin. And somehow, he’s still the guy who always shows up for everyone else.

When his mom is injured, Tyler begs me to help her. He swears he can find another physical therapist, but he doesn’t trust anyone else with her recovery. Reluctantly, I agree to work with her on the side. But the more time I spend with Tyler—his mom’s warm smiles, his late-night thank-you texts, his steady belief in me—the harder it is to keep my distance.

The closer we get, the more the lines blur. And with my job on the line and his career just taking off, falling for Tyler could cost us both everything. But with him? It might just be worth it.
