Unexpectedly Falling

He may be in charge, but this sheriff just got served.

Being the youngest sheriff in the county wasn’t part of the plan. But neither was becoming a single dad and asking my daughter’s hot as sin guardian to help out until I get my feet under me.

A temporary fix.

The only person less likely to settle down than me is the woman currently occupying my guest room. The professional soccer player is meant for the flashy life Nashville has to offer, not the quirky small town one and that suits me just fine.

But it’s not fine – because Nessa Hart is everywhere – invading my home and my senses. She’s forbidden and tempting and absolutely not here for me.

My daughter deserves the world and that means keeping my hands to myself where Nessa is concerned. But like the rest of the nation, I fell hard for the soccer star with one cleat out the door.

That frantic late night kiss was a mistake but what happened after would change us forever.

Some say the best things in life are free, but I think they’re unexpected.
