Return by Land

She didn’t plan on starting over.
She certainly didn’t plan on starting over with him.

After a painful divorce shatters the future she imagined, Meadow Jones packs up her life and accepts a new job as the concierge and property manager for a cluster of luxury rentals in Bigfork, Montana. The mountains offer quiet. The job offers stability. For the first time in years, Meadow feels like she might have a chance to breathe again.

She never expected the past to meet her there when things go horribly wrong.

When Kody Laurence—now one of the country’s most sought-after custom home builders—walks back into her life, Meadow is ambushed by memories she buried long ago. Sun-soaked summers. Late-night laughter. The boy who once held her heart without even knowing it.

Only now he isn’t a boy at all. He’s a man with calloused hands, steady eyes, and a presence that stirs every piece of her she thought was numb.

Thousands of miles from where they first met, Meadow isn’t sure what they are anymore. Old friends reconnecting? Strangers with shared history? Or something deeper waiting beneath the surface? Because the more time they spend together, the clearer the truth becomes they were unfinished. Undone. Interrupted by life, but not forgotten.

Now Meadow must decide whether she’s brave enough to let someone in again and whether Kody is the man she can trust to build something real from the ruins of her past.

When a second chance finds them in the mountains, will they choose friendship or admit it’s finally their time for something more?
