Fall from Grace

Grace

I met the man of my dreams a year ago while working as a travel nurse in Wintervale, Montana. Our love burned brightly and quickly until it was finally extinguished when he didn’t fight for us when I was ready to end my travel nursing career. Instead, he let me leave for my next assignment without so much as a backward glance—breaking my heart more than I ever thought possible.

Travis

She was the light of my life, even if only for a few months. I knew from the start that she had wanderlust—being a travel nurse, it was part of her lifestyle. I could see it in her eyes when she talked about all the places she visited on her assignments. I knew there would come a time when she would leave me. I refused to be the reason the light in her eyes faded, so I let her go. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of her and the fact that I wasn’t enough for her to stay in one place.
