My father was a king. He built his empire from the ground up, side by side with his best friend, Ryker Lawson. But the crown is a heavy thing. It killed him when I was fourteen years old, and that set the stage for the destruction of my life.

I fought my way through the streets to survive, convinced that enough time had passed for me to return to my home, just to watch from a distance.

I was wrong.

Ryker, my father’s best friend and now the new king, has decided it’s time for me to take my rightful place. As his Queen.

Ryker Lawson is ruthless, a king who uses fear and pain to control his people. But that power has come at a cost. His soul is as dark as the city he rules, and now, he wants to own me.

Consume me.

Possess my every thought, my every craving. He promises to cater to my every need, but his desires are darker than even his soul. And if I’m not careful, he’ll devour me whole.

Can passion glow through the darkness? Or will I burn in his fire?
