Devil’s Cub

Devil’s Cub by Georgette Heyer is a vibrant and exhilarating Regency romance, continuing the saga of the Alastair family from her earlier novel, These Old Shades. The story centers around the reckless and dashing young nobleman, Dominic Alastair, the Marquis of Vidal, who lives up to his family's notorious reputation for wild behavior.
Dominic's latest escapade involves a scandalous attempt to elope with the beautiful but morally dubious Sophia Challoner. However, his plans go awry when Sophia's sensible and courageous sister, Mary Challoner, decides to intervene. Determined to protect her sister's honor, Mary takes Sophia's place, setting off a chain of events that neither she nor Dominic could have anticipated.
The plot thickens as Dominic, infuriated by Mary's daring substitution, kidnaps her and takes her to France. What follows is a thrilling and often humorous adventure filled with misunderstandings, duels, and unexpected romance. As the two characters clash and connect, they find themselves developing a deep and genuine affection for each other, challenging their preconceptions and societal norms.
