Challenged by the Ex-Military Lumberjack

They say you can't fix what's broken, but the isolation in my lumberjack's eyes tells me he's never let anyone try.

I came to Blackwater Falls with nothing but grief and a need to start over somewhere my mother's ghost couldn't follow me. The last thing I expected was a hardware store encounter with Eli Cross, an ex-military lumberjack whose storm-gray eyes and mile-high walls make it clear he wants nothing to do with people.

Eli isn't just closed off; he's fortified. Six years alone in a cabin in the woods, working himself to exhaustion, carrying the weight of the men he lost overseas like stones in his chest. Everyone in town knows to leave him be.

But I've never been good at following the rules.

As my terrible lasagna turns into stolen glances, and stolen glances turn into something neither of us can deny, I start to wonder… Can a woman running from grief and a man hiding from his past find healing in each other's broken pieces? Or will the weight of what we've both lost be too heavy to carry together?

Challenged by the Ex-Military Lumberjack is a short, sweet, and steamy small town instalove romance with a happy-ever-after. It can be read as a standalone or together with the rest of the books in the Curvy Wives of Blackwater Falls series.
