What is Swoonstack?
Swoonstack is a romance-focused discovery and reading tracker platform. It helps you discover books by tropes and triggers, organise your reading life, and track your journey – all designed around joyful, intentional reading.
What are stacks?
Think of stacks like labelled bookshelves for your reading life. Use them to organise what you’re reading now, what’s next, what you want to read someday, what you loved, what you finished, and what you didn’t finish.
What stacks can I use?
- Currently Reading – what you’re actively reading
- Reading Queue – what you plan to read next
- TBR+ – your long-term “to be read” list
- Favourites – the books you loved and want to highlight
- Finished – books you’ve completed
- DNF – books you chose not to finish
What’s the difference between Reading Queue and TBR+?
Reading Queue is your short-term list – what you realistically plan to read soon.
TBR+ is your long-term wish list – books you’re interested in but not necessarily picking up next.
How do I add a book to my stacks?
Whenever you see a book cover, hover over it and select Add to Stacks, then choose the stack you want.
Do I need an account to use Swoonstack?
Yes. You’ll need a free account to track books, use stacks, and personalise your trope and trigger profile.
Can I change a book’s stack later?
Yes. Find the book in your stack, hover over the cover, and choose a different stack.
What if I can’t find the book I want to add on Swoonstack?
If a book is missing, you can request it here: https://swoonstack.com/request-report/. We review all requests and add eligible romance titles to the catalogue.

What is a trope?
A trope is a recurring storytelling device within a genre. Romance is rich with tropes, and they’re one of the best ways to discover books that match the mood you’re craving – especially when you’re overwhelmed or have decision fatigue.
What is a trigger?
A trigger is content that may cause emotional distress or discomfort for a reader. Triggers can be linked to lived experiences, trauma, or personal preferences – and they’re deeply individual. We believe readers deserve transparency so they can make informed choices.
How accurate are your trope and trigger lists?
We work carefully to keep trope and trigger information as accurate and comprehensive as possible. This is also a collaborative effort: we rely on readers, authors, and publishers to help keep listings correct and up to date.
What if I think a trigger is missing or incorrect?
Please let us know via the Request / Report form: https://swoonstack.com/request-report/. We review submissions and update listings where appropriate.
Can authors submit their own trope and trigger data?
Yes – and we encourage it. If you’re an author or publisher and would like to provide official trope/trigger information, contact us and we’ll send our tropes & triggers matrix so your works can be recorded accurately. We also allow reader submissions, as some elements can be subjective.
How can you help me find books that match my trope and trigger preferences?
Create an account or log in, then build your Tropes & Triggers Profile. Once set up, you can use it to discover books tailored to your preferences.

How do I get my book listed?

Can indie authors join?
Absolutely. Swoonstack supports both indie and traditionally published romance authors.
Do you charge listing fees?
No – listing your romance works on Swoonstack is free.
Will you promote my book?
Books appear in discovery searches when they match a reader’s filtering criteria. We don’t push unrelated recommendations. Visibility is based on relevance to the reader, with purchase options presented fairly and transparently.
Can I update my book’s tropes or triggers?
Yes, please. If you’d like to update or refine trope/trigger information, contact us and we’ll send the appropriate matrix.

What kind of books are featured on Swoonstack?
Swoonstack is dedicated to romance – across all subgenres.
Do you list non-romance books?
Yes – primarily for user tracking and organisation. Non-romance titles do not appear in discovery galleries and are typically added by request via: https://swoonstack.com/request-report/
Do affiliate links influence rankings?
No. Books are surfaced based on reader preferences and filtering criteria – not affiliate relationships.
